After obtaining her baccalauréat from the Lycée Français de New York and her Masters in Media Studies from the New School, she held a number of jobs that allowed her to live and write. Now, she devotes herself exclusively to the work of making literary art and fanning the flames of women’s spirits.

In addition Magdala, Valerie has written an unpublished novel, Our Lady of Everything, which is being optioned for a screenplay, and edited many works of scholarship, memoir and fiction.

She currently facilitates a monthly women’s new-moon circle in Manhattan.
